Week of August 27th - August 30th

PEEWEE MAJOR

The finals in the Peewee Major division was a rematch of the first place game between the Dusters and Lions. The Lions were the favorites, having taken the first place game the week before and were set on repeating on their previous performance. However, they might have come into the game a touch over-confident as the Dusters took a quick 6-0 lead. The Lions finally woke up in the 2nd period playing 4 on 3 due to the 5 goal deficit and were trying desperately to cut the deficit. The Lions were determined going into the 3rd period down by 4 goals, and were able to cut the Duster lead down to 1 goal with 1:15 to play in the game. However their brutal start was the eventual deciding factor that burried them and the Duster held on to win a 9 - 8 decision and bring home the EPHL Cup. Despite the bad start, the Lions showed their resilience and heart by coming back late in what was arguably one of the best finals matches in the EPHL. Congratulations to the Dusters on their EPHL Championship!

PEEWEE MINOR

The long awaited finals in the Peewee Minor division was held between the Hog Riders and the Leopards. The game was very tight early on, however the Hog Riders openned up a 4 goal lead late in the 2nd period. The Leopards were not gonna go down without a fight and they cut the lead down to 2 goals late in the 3rd, however the Hog Riders scored with 18 seconds left to erase any hopes of a Leopard comeback and bringing home the EPHL Cup by a score of 12-9. Congratulations to the Hog Riders, Peewee Minor EPHL Cup Champs!

ATOM MAJOR

The 2nd semi-finals was won by the Young Guns who booked their ticket to the finals on Thursday evening by taking a 12 - 7 decision over the Big Leaguers. In the finals, the DDO Vipers were waiting for the Young Guns who they had beaten 2 weeks prior in what was expected to be a heated final. The Young Guns started off very strong and lead from start to finish in a decisive 15 - 8 win to bring home the Atom Major division EPHL Cup. Congratulations to the Young Guns on becoming EPHL Champs!

ATOM MINOR

Bamboo Dudes Division

In the Bamboo Dudes division, the final was going to be played by the 1st place Knights vs 2nd Place Ice Warriors in what was expected to be a tightly played final. Both teams lived up to that as the Knights scored in the last minute of regulation to tie the game at 6 - 6 and send the game to a shootout to decide the EPHL Cup. Even the shootout was tight as the referee played a key role in deciding the EPHL Cup by disallowing the Ice Warriors 3rd shooter who scored on what was interpreted by the referee as backward motion. Unforetunately we did not have access to going to Toronto for a final decision on the replay as the rules state that the referee on the ice has the final decision on the ice to the unforetunate Ice Warriors who eventually got robbed of the EPHL Cup in their Atom Minor Bammboo Dudes division by a score of 7 - 6 to the Champions Knights. We would like to congratulate both teams for a great finals game and it's unforetunate that their was a loser as both teams were Champions in our eyes. Congratulations to the Knights on winning the EPHL Cup!

Hockey 360 Division

In the Hockey 360 division, the finals was held between first place Fast & Furious and Les Eclairs, who had beaten the Lions in the Friday semi-finals in a closely disputed game. The finals were just as closely disputed and filled with controversy as the underdog team of Les Eclairs pulled off a 9 - 8 decision to win the EPHL Cup. Once again, we would like to congratulate both teams for a great finals and it's unforetunate that there has to be loser and a winner. Congratualtions to both teams and Les Eclairs for bringing home the EPHL Cup!

Week of August 20th - August 26th

MIDGET MINOR

Make A Wish made all their wishes come through by disposing of the 1st place Chiefs in the first semi-finals game. In the 2nd semi-finals game, the Titans knocked of one of the best teams names in the EPHL, No Regretzkies who definitly had no regrets about their performance in the semi's. That left the finals between the Titans vs Make A Wish. In the end, the EPHL Cup was awarded to the Titans who won by a dominating score of 10 - 5. Congratulations to team Titans.

PEEWEE MAJOR

The battle for first place was finally won by the Lions on the last game of the regular season leaving the Dusters in 2nd place and a very difficult semi-finals matchup vs Black T. The matchup between the Dusters vs Black T was one for the ages as Black T blew a 2 goal lead very late and give credit where credit is due as the Dusters pulled off the improbable comeback. They will now face the Lions once again who disposed of the Ozarks who were simply no competition going down to defeat by a score of 22 - 10. The finals for the EPHL Cup are now all set for Friday between the Lions and Dusters.

PEEWEE MINOR

In the first semi-finals, the Hog Riders needed 7 goals from a surprise callup to dispose of the Vipers by a score of 11 - 5. Hats off goes out to the Vipers who probably deserved a better fate. In the 2nd semi-finals, the Leopards didn't let The Leftovers surprise them in any way by disposing them by a score of 13 - 7 despite a surprise addition of "super spare" Chris Kelly. The finals are now set for Sunday between the Hog Riders vs Leopards to battle for the EPHL Cup. Good luck to both teams.

ATOM MAJOR

In the 1st semi-final game, The Hockey Squad could not repeat their upset of the previous week and the DDO Vipers revenged their previous week defeat by a score of 8 - 6. The 2nd semi-finals is set for tonight between the Big Leaguers who upset the Bolts in one of the most intense game in the EPHL yet by a score of 10 - 9. They will play the Young Guns who continue to show why they are so good, carrying two super talented 2012 born players. To be continued....

ATOM MINOR

In the Bamboo Dudes division, the finals are set for Sunday between the Knights vs Ice Warriors. The Knights disposed of the Thunder fairly easily, however the game had to be called early as a full out brawl broke out with 3 minutes to play. Both coaches seemed to not be able to control their teams which, if not controlled going forward will have huge affects in their future development as players. Hopefully the message passed along to both rosters after the game will help them going forward.

In the Hockey 360 division, Fast & Furious secured their spot in the finals for Sunday and now await the winner of Les Eclairs vs Lions set for Friday. We expect this semi-finals to be highly intense. Good luck to all teams.

Week of August 16th - August 19th

MIDGET MAJOR

If you were not present last Saturday for the Midget Major All-Star game vs Quartier Hockey, you missed quite a display of high end talent. Playing the game using Quartier Hockey 3vs3 rules proved to be an added hill to climb for the EPHL All-Stars along with the noticeable strength and age difference of Quartier Hockey. The game ended 21-12 in favor of Quartier Hockey with Hendrix Lapierre & Xavier Bourgault combining for 13 of their teams goals. Lapierre's play making ability and Bourgault's finish was simply unreal and you could tell why they are high end prospects for NHL draft both this year and next year. We would like to thank Marco Raimondo for accepting to play the game as they had nothing to gain by taking us on and we respect him for it.

MIDGET MINOR

The Semi-Finals are now set in the Midget Minor division. The Chiefs will be taking on Make A Wish in the first game while the Titans will be taking on No Regretzkies in the second game. We are expecting both games to be played very tough so good luck to all four teams.

BANTAM MAJOR

What a game to determine the Bantam Major division Championship played between the Stars and the Ouest Coast Young Guns. Despite finishing the regular season in last place, the Stars made it to the finals and gave everything they could throw at the Ouest Coast Young Guns in the Final. The Stars were up by 2 goals very late in the game, but what had plagued them all year in the regular season was their undisciplined penalties which they were able to keep under control until the last 2 mins of the Final. The Stars took 2 penalties with under 2 mins to play and the Ouest Coast Young Guns took full advantage by scoring on both penalty shots that sent the game to shootouts. The Ouest Coast Young Guns prevailed and won the EPHL Cup in a closely played Final by a score of 10-9. Congratulations to both teams on a greatly played final.

BANTAM MINOR

Congratulations are in order to The Benchwarmers who beat the Vipers in the Finals to win the EPHL Cup. The Benchwarmers are the only team to have had a perfect season in the EPHL this year going a record 12-0. We expect them to have greater competition next year when they move up in divisions. Once again, congratulations.

PEEWEE MAJOR

In the Peewee Major division, we are stil awaiting positioning on the top 2 playoff spots which will be decided between the Dusters and Lions on August 21st at 18h00. Should be quite the battle!

PEEWEE MINOR

The was quite a huge upset in the first round of the playoffs as the Ice Wolves couldn't eat what The Leftovers put on their plate. The Leftovers secured a Semi-Final birth by a score of 10-9 in a tightly contested 1/4 Final game. The Hog Riders secured their spot in the Semi-Finals by disposing Pick Me Up! fairly easily. The other 2 spots will be played out on August 21st.

ATOM MAJOR

MIDGET MINOR

The playoff stage is now set for the Midget Minor stage. The teams finished in the following order; Chiefs #1, Titans #2, Make A Wish #3, No Regretkies #4, Pathers 2.0 #5, and Bello's #6. The top 3 teams each had 12 points each and the standings were decided by goal differential. We expect the playoff round to be just as tightly played. Good luck to all teams.

BANTAM MINOR

The finals are now set in the Bantam Minor division. The Benchwarmers undefeated record got a slight scare from Pick Me Up! in the semi-finals who were down 4-2 going into the 3rd period but rallied to an eventual commanding victory. It was a very well played game by both teams. Their opponent will be the Vipers, who disposed of the Vikings in another tightly contested and well played game. So it will be The Benchwarmers and Vipers playing for the EPHL Cup, good luck to both teams.

PEEWEE MAJOR

In the Peewee Major division, there's been some movement recently at the top spot in the division. Looks like the Dusters have taken over 1st place over the Lions by a slim 2 point margin. Balck T is currently in 3rd place while the Ozarks are still looking for their first win in 4th place. In the scoring race, James Scantlebury of the Dusters holds a 4 goal lead over Dylan Rozzi of the Lions. This race will surely intensify as we get closer to the playoffs.

PEEWEE MINOR

The playoff stage is now set for the Peewee Minor stage. The teams finished in the following order; Hog Riders #1, Ice Wolves #2, Leopards #3, Vipers #4, Maple Leafs #5, Mighty Pucks #6, The Leftovers #7, and Pick Me Up! at #8. The playoff rounds was modified to have a standard 1vs8, 2vs7, 3vs6, 4vs5 format in over to give every team a fair shot at winning the EPHL Cup, so please check your schedules before Sunday. Good luck to all teams.

ATOM MAJOR

While teams are fighting hard for positioning before the playoff round, first place might just have been decided by an incredible battle of top 2 undefeated teams, DDO Vipers vs Young Guns. The game was ultimately won by the DDO Vipers by a 1 goal margin, and if they win their last game they should hold on to bragging rights and the top spot. The under-aged Flavio Di Placido of the Young Guns has been incredibly hot of late and has taken the scoring lead in the division over teammate Mathis Khoury by 1 goal. We will continue to follow that race for sure!

ATOM MINOR

In the Bamboo Dudes division, looks like first place will go to the Knights. The only question remaining for them is if they can hold on to their undefeated streak with the only blemish they had was a tie game vs the Thunder. In the Hockey 360 division, looks like Fast & Furious have locked up first place, followed by Les Eclairs in 2nd, Lions in 3rd, and Lightning in 4th. In the scoring race, Renzo Herrera of Les Eclairs has a slim 3 goals lead over teammate Philip Danciu.

Week of August 1st - August 10th

MIDGET MAJOR

With the regular season round finishing on August 1st, the Tigers finished up strong by beating Covid Killers in a highly disputed match between the top 2 teams in the league. Tigers ended the regular season losing only 1 game. The battle for 3rd spot was won with the Q-Selects beating Nukor on their last game of the regular season. The regular season with Tigers at #1, Covid Killers #2, Q-Selects #3, and Nukor at #4 setting up an intense playoffs round.

In the first semi-finals between Tigers and Nukor, the game was decided on a last minute goal scored by Dylan Hryckowian and the Tigers winning a 15-14 decision. In the 2nd semi-finals, Q-Selects played almost a flawless game controlling the game with their puck possession and getting an outstanding performance in goal by replacement Aiden Farion to secure a 12-8 victory over the Covid Killers.

In the finals, another great performance by Aiden Farion brought the Cup to the Q-Selects with a hard fought 11-10 win over the Tigers. Both team were missing key players in the finals as Jamil Zaid had broken his arm at his Midget AAA tryouts while the Q-Selects were missing Tyron Fevry, their 2006 under aged superstar.

Congratulations to the Q-Selects for taking home the EPHL Cup!

Q-Selects Midget Major Champs

BANTAM MAJOR

With the regular finished, the Black Panthers finished in 1st place, followed by the Q-Selects at #2, MF'S at #3, Ouest Coast Young Guns at #4, Border Boys at #5, and last but not least, the Stars at #6. If you thought the Habs eliminating the Penguins was an upset, the playoffs in the Bantam Major Division has followed that up. The Stars did not let their #6 ranking bring them down and they responded by beating the #3 seed MF'S and then the #1 seed Black Panthers to put themselves in the finals scheduled on Sunday August 16th. Further to that, the Ouest Coast Young Guns defeated both the Borders Boys and then the #2 seed Q-Selects in a shootout to put them in the finals as well. We are looking forward to the finals and good luck to both teams!!!

BANTAM MINOR

The regular season ended up with The Benchwarmers taking 1st place as expected, followed by the Vikings at #2, Vipers at #3, Pick Me Up! at #4, Tendy Destroyers at #5, and High Voltage at #6. Tomorrow the top 2 teams will be playing for bragging rights to see who they will play in the semi-finals as both Pick Me Up! and the Vipers won their respective 1/4 final match. The game tomorrow is expected to be intensely played as both tems have been warned for their physical play and the referee has been given specific instructions to call the game very closely. To be continued.....

Week of June 29 - July 30th

ATOM MINOR

After having each team play 2 seeding games, we decided to create 2 divisions (Bamboo Dudes & Hockey 360) to make the games more competitive. In the Bamboo Dudes division, the Ice Warriors are currently in 1st place being followed very closely by the Knights who have played 2 less games and are just 1 point behind. In the Hockey 360 division, Les Eclairs hold 1st place due to scoring more goals but they are tied in points with Fast & Furious.

Players that have stood out are Renzo Herrera of les Eclairs who leads the division in scoring with 23 goals followed by teammates Philip Danciu at 22 goals & Fred Genzardi with 20 goals. Watch closely for Peter Brocollini  of the Knights and Derek Ghostine of Fast & Furious as they will surely challenge the leaders. In goal, Lucas Elias of Fast & Furious is leading in wins, but Noah Witcher of the Ice Warriors is the leader in Avg having played 1 less game.

THREE STARS

#1 Renzo Herrera of les Eclairs
#2 Noah Witcher of the Ice Warriors
#3 Philip Danciu of les Eclairs

ATOM MAJOR

The Atom Major division is headed towards a 2 team showdown for the league lead. The Young Guns are currently undefeated at 5-0 while the DDO Vipers are 4-0. We expect their head to head matchup to be very competitive! Mathis Khoury of the Young Guns is the goals leader at 21 goals. He is being followed closely by Henry Lacelle of the Hockey Squad at 18 goals and teammate 2012 sensation Flavio Di Placido at 17 goals. In goal, 2012 sensation Mason Khoury is the league leader in both avg and wins, back stopping his Young Guns team to the current league lead.

The Hog Riders have gotten off to incredible start, going 7-1 and leading the 8 team Peewee Minor division. They are being followed closely by the Ice Wolves and Leopards who also only have 1 loss to their record, having both played 1 less game. Dimitri Tsimberis of the Vipers is the current goals leader at 22 goals, followed by Luca Carlomusto of the Ice Wolves and Adam Suter of the Hog Riders both tied at 17 goals. In goal, Nicolas Porato & Matteo Vasella are tied at 5 wins a piece, while Porato leads the league in Avg at 5.5 goals against per game.

PEEWEE MAJOR

The Dusters and Lions have a very hard fight for top spot in the division. The Dusters hold a very slight lead by basically letting in 1 less goal then the Lions. We are looking forward to their next head to head battle which will surely feature the return of 2009 sensation Ryan Hanrahan who suffered a mid body injury in their very first game. James Scantlebury of the Dusters is the current scoring leader at 28 goals followed by teammate Kingsley Solomon at 22 goals who has played 2 less games. The always dangerous Dylan Rozzi is in 3rd spot at 20 goals. In goal, Elliot Lennon is the league leader in both wins at 4 and Avg at 6.2 goals allowed per game.

#1 James Scantlebury of the Dusters
#2 Kingsley Solomon of the Dusters
#3 Dylan Rozzi of the Lions

BANTAM MINOR

The Benchwarmers seem to be running away with the division lead at 7-0, however they were in a heavily contested game vs the 5th place Pick Me Up! team that lost a 1 goal heart breaker. Pick Me Up! almost avenged their first game destructive  loss. The game was so heated, we heard rumors that the trash talking went out into the parking lot! Hopefully these were just rumors as we all know the game is won or lost on the ice. Tomas Lulic of the Benchwarmers is leading the league in goals at 30, followed by Jack Fraser of the Vikings & Peter Tsantes of Pick Me Up! bother tied with 20 goals. Peter Tsantes has turned many heads in the last few games turning on his competitiveness and leading his team to competitive games. In goal, Dashiel George of the Benchwarmers in leading with 5 wins and a 3.8 Avg.

In argueably the most competitive division of the EPHL's Summer League, the Q-Selects are leading the division with 12 points, however they have played 1 less game than the Black Panthers who are in 2nd place with 10 points. Seems like any team can beat any team in this division! The league scoring leader is William McLean of the Black Panthers at 21 goals, followed by his teammate Evan Cecere and Billy Yulen of the Border Boys both tied at 19 goals. In goal, George Foti leads the league with 6 wins, while Jonathan Asfour leads in Avg at 6.857 goals per game.

Looks like Make A Wish have all their wishes coming through at the moment as they hold the league lead with 8 points. There is a 3-way tie for 2nd place at the moment with The Chiefs, Titans, and Panthers 2.0 at 6 points. Dimitri Andrianakis and Spiro Hamzeh of Make A Wish are both leading the division in scoring with 17 goals. They are followed by Philippe Milonas of the Chiefs 1 behind at 16 goals. In goal, Paolo Carpineta of Make A Wish is the leader in wins with 4 while Taniel Karaboghossian is leading in Avg giving up only 7 goals a game.

Although the Tigers are running away with the lead with their evenly balanced attack with 14 points, the Covid Killer gave them all they could handle in their last game giving them their first loss of the season. The Covid Killers are on a nice winning streak and currently in 2nd place with 8 points. Dylan Hryckowian drafted by the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL is the lead leader in scoring with 33 goals. He is followed by Mikka Kelechian drafted by the Shawinigan Cataraques of the QMJHL with 31 goals. Incredibly, the only under aged player in the division, 2006 born Tyrone Fevry, is currently sitting in 7th place with 23 goals having missed 1 game. In goal, Thomas Pigeon of the Tigers is leading the league in wins with 8 while Justin Katz of Nukor, drafted by the Moncton Wildcats himself is the league leader in Avg giving up 9.5 goals a game is a very offensive division. Playoffs begin as early as this coming weekend for this tightly played division and we are looking forward to the high level talent this division has shown everyone.
